1. We Offer More Than Muscle — We Offer Service
In our early years, we believed a good move simply meant safe, economical and efficient. Packing a piano, for example, follows a mature professional process — protecting, wrapping and safely loading it onto the truck quickly and in order. We thought that being professional and fast was enough to satisfy customers.
But as we served more and more customers, we realized a truly good move is more than getting things safely from one place to another. Every customer has their own habits and ideas — some care most about how furniture is wrapped, some about the order items are moved, and some want to confirm where furniture goes in the new home beforehand.
工作結束後,我們也會主動詢問:「今天還有哪些地方我們可以做得更好?」So now, before every job, we take time to talk with the customer, walk through the home together, learn which items matter most and what they need, and then move the way we both agreed. When the work is done, we ask: “What could we have done better today?”
To us, professionalism is not only speed and strength — it is communication, respect and responsibility. Our years of experience taught us that we are not just moving furniture and belongings; we are carrying how much our customers cherish their home.
2. Honest Business — Responsibility Doesn’t End When the Move Does
Two months ago we completed a move for a customer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Twelve days later, the customer contacted us to say their electric bed had stopped working.
Under our damage claim policy, issues should be reported within 48 hours of the move. Even though that window had passed, we looked into it seriously instead of simply citing the rules. We immediately checked with that day’s crew, who reported the move went smoothly with no noticeable bumps or pressure, and the customer had signed off when the job was done.
Although we could not determine whether the move caused the problem, considering the customer’s situation and the repair cost, we decided to refund the full $400 for that move to help resolve it.
At Run Run Moving, rules matter — but so do integrity and responsibility. When problems arise, we are willing to listen, understand and do our best to find a fair solution.
3. A Customer’s Trust Matters More Than One Gain or Loss
A computer engineer once contacted us a week after his move to say his monitor was damaged. With time having passed, it was hard to tell where the damage happened. Instead of shifting blame, we listened carefully and checked with that day’s crew.
In the end, considering his actual loss and experience, we spent about $300 to buy him a new monitor. We believe that when a move ends, our responsibility and service do not. Communicating openly and handling problems seriously is how we earn long-term trust.
4. Sometimes Kindness Matters More Than Business
We once moved a 75-year-old man who had lived by caring for his father in a senior apartment. After his father passed away, he needed to move his own and his father’s belongings. At payment time he emptied his wallet — bills and coins came to only $300, while the move cost $700. He said he no longer had a job and was applying for unemployment, and hoped to pay the remaining $400 next month.
We didn’t press him. We told our movers: “Don’t make it hard for him — help him settle his things and come back.” A month later he called to say the money was ready. When the owner arrived, he found the man was living in a warehouse. When he handed over the money, we didn’t take it: “Keep it — you still need to eat and live.”
After all these years, we know every customer has a story. Business has a price, but understanding between people sometimes matters more than any deal.
5. Respect in the Heart, Principles in the Work
We once sorted and moved years of accumulated belongings for a customer — more than 50 bags and boxes over a full week. One day, while going through an old cardboard box, one of our movers found a bundle of cash, about $1,000, wrapped in paper yellowed with age. Without hesitation he tidied it and returned it to the customer untouched. The next day he found a loose bundle of New Taiwan dollars among the clutter and handed that over right away too.
Surprised, the customer asked: “You found this money in old junk — why not keep it?” He answered: “Because I have my own faith. Others may not know what I do, but I know. What isn’t mine, I can’t take.” He has worked at Run Run Moving for 10 years and has always been a trusted, respected member of our team.
To us, professionalism is more than moving things well. Customers hand us their homes, their belongings and many precious memories — and we must be worthy of that trust.
We Listen to Every Piece of Feedback
After all these years, we can’t claim every move is perfect. Sometimes customers share concerns about our service. Whenever we receive feedback, we revisit that day together: what didn’t go well — communication, service, presentation, efficiency or on-site details? We don’t focus on explaining the past; we focus on doing better next time.
Because we always hope that at the end of every move, our customers can happily tell us: “You did a great job.”
One for all, all for one.
Moving may look like physical labor, but to us it is above all a job of serving people. When customers entrust us with their home and belongings, that is trust. What we can do is treat every family with care, do what needs to be done well, and turn every piece of feedback into a chance to improve.
